I had the best time doing this live reading of Bond and Song in a stunning outdoor venue in North Carolina, to such a wonderfully kind and attentive audience. You could have heard a pin drop! It truly felt like an enchantment wrapped around us all and the world of Bond and Song came alive with us in the midst of it. We were all transported! Excited for more live readings in the future.

Author appreciation! How wonderfully kind and generous is that? It was a true delight to be interviewed by the lovely book lovers of Cape & Castle.

We talked inspiration, writing process, publishing, self-doubt, becoming an author, the meaningful place of books in our lives...a little bit of (very fun) story-time made it in there as well!

What did you expect? I am a word weaver (aka storyteller) after all. 😉

We got the opportunity to have a chat with the extremely talented Mera Akiana! She has recently released Bond and Song, her debut novel! And the reviews coming in for it have been spectacular.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to check this book out, we strongly recommend it. It’s absolutely haunting and beautiful in so many ways. We were able to connect with the book so well and honestly cannot wait for the next work to hit the shelves.

Mera Akiana has released her debut novel and when I tell you it’s incredible, that doesn’t even come close to describing Bond and Song. This was a stunning and emotional journey, unlike anything I’ve read before. It was beyond any of my expectations.

I got the opportunity to read this book and while the description makes it sound pretty great, once I started it I realized the description didn’t give this book justice. Because once I started it, I couldn’t put it down.
